Manage Newsletter Tools

View Lists

First log into CMATION® (http://www.yourwebsite.com/admin) and under Modules click the link labeled Manage Newsletter.

From this page click the Tools menu and select View Lists.

Add Newsletter List

From the Manage Newsletter Lists page click the Add List button.

Name: Name your newsletter mailing list (ex. customers, VPs, sales, general, etc.)
Active: YES=is visible; NO=not visible
Sort: Numeric value that determines the order your mailing list appears.
Default List: YES=Sets the list as the default newsletter recipient; NO=Not default newsletter recipient
Public: YES=Visible to public; NO=Not visible to public
HTML Email: YES=allows HTML to be sent; NO=sends text only email
Auto Process Bounces: YES=bounces will be automatically unsubscribed from your mailing lists without any assistance from you; NO=bounces will not be removed from the mailing list until you choose to remove them manually
Subscribe URL: Creates a page with your signup form and a link within your site navigation. Can be left blank and will automatically generate the URL using the Name field.

When complete click the Save button. If you do not wish to save the new list, click the Cancel button.

Edit List

From the Manage Newsletter Lists select the Edit Record button to the right of the Newsletter List you wish to edit.

Delete List

You can delete a List in two different ways:
Select View Lists from the Tools menu.
Delete Option 1:
On the View Lists page click the Delete button next to the list you wish to Delete.
You will be prompted with a confirm deletion page. Just select Confirm Delete or Cancel.
Delete Option 2:
On the View Lists page click the Edit Record button next to the list you wish to Delete.
On the following page select Delete.
You will be prompted with a confirm deletion page. Just select Confirm Delete or Cancel.

View Templates

First log into CMATION® (http://www.yourwebsite.com/admin) and under Modules click the link labeled Manage Newsletter.

From this page click the Tools menu and select View Templates.

Add Templates

From the View Templates page click the Add button.

Name: Name your template
Active: YES=is visible; NO=not visible
Sort: Numeric value that determines the order your newsletters appear in.
Newsletter Subject: Create a subject line that recipients will see. Make sure it clearly states what the purpose of your email is and who it is from.
Newsletter Sender Name: This is the name that recipients will see as the Sender Name.
Newsletter Sender Email: This is the email that recipients will see as the Sender Email.
Content: You can either build your template here in the content manager or in an outside program like Word or Dreamweaver, then copy it and paste into the content manager. If copying from Word, use the Paste from Word link in the content editor as it will strip out any non-web compliant code that may interfere with your page layout.
When complete click the Save button. If you do not wish to save the new template, click the Cancel button.

From the Manage Newsletter Templates select the Edit Record button to the right of the Newsletter Template you wish to edit.

Any images used that are not already on your server will need to be uploaded and then linked using the Link icon in the content editor interface.

Process Bounces

First log into CMATION® (http://www.yourwebsite.com/admin) and under Modules click the link labeled Manage Newsletter.

From this page click the Tools menu and select Process Bounces. On the following page select the Click Here to Begin button.

Manage Config

First log into CMATION® (http://www.yourwebsite.com/admin) and under Modules click the link labeled Manage Newsletter.

From this page click the Tools menu and select Manage Config.

Maximum Number Of Bounces (Bounces Max): Set numeric value.
Newsletter Sender Name: Name you wish to appear to recipients.
Newsletter Sender Email: Email address you wish to appear to recipients.
Newsletter Bounce Name: Enter the name of the newsletter administrator who should be notified of bounces.
Newsletter Bounce Email: Enter the email for the newsletter administrator who should be notified of bounces.
Newsletter Header: Enter text you wish to appear at the top of your email.
Newsletter Footer: Enter text you wish to appear at the bottom of your email. This is a good place for your anti-spam text and opt out message.

Using a newsletter to promote your products/services can be a very powerful tool in your marketing campaign, however, this tool does require a serious commitment to responsible marketing.

Everyone hates receiving email they didn't ask to get--so much so that a law was passed in 2004 to allow suit to be brought against anyone who utilizes these kinds of tactics.
