Calendar

View Events & Categories

Log into CMATION® (http://www.yourwebsite.com/admin). Select the Modules tab, and from that menu select the Manage Calendar choice.

From the Tools menu you may choose to View Events or View Categories.

What this does: Allows you to create event categories and specify event dates that will show up on your calendar page.
Tools -> View Categories:
Creating an event category allows you to assign a different color to each event type. After an event is created, assigned a category and the calendar is viewed, the visitor will see small colored squares on the dates with events. They can click on these boxes to open a pop up description of the event, date, time and location. If there are multiple events on one date, all of them will appear in the pop up view.
Tools -> View Events:
Create new events that will appear on your calendar to keep your visitors informed by clicking the 'add new event' button at the top of the page. You can include links to online maps, photos and other content that will make your event easier to locate and more inviting.

Add Event

Log into CMATION® (http://www.yourwebsite.com/admin). Select the Modules tab, and from that menu select the Manage Calendar choice.

From the Tools menu you may choose to View Events.

Select the Add button.

Name: Name your event.
Category: Choose which category(ies) to assign this event to.
Active: YES=visible; NO=not visible
Location: Specify the location where your event will be taking place. It's always a good idea to Include address, links to online maps, phone number, etc . to help attendees locate the meeting easier.
Description: Add an informative description of the event. If this is a multi-date event, this general description will be attached to each occurrence.
Date Type: Choose Single Date, Multi Date.
Single Date is used for an events that only takes place one time OR occurs on multiple dates but not consecutively.
Multi Date events are events that take place across two or more consecutive dates.
Recurring events are events that occur repeatedly on the same day of the week over a consistent span of weeks or months.
Start & End Dates: If your event is a single date event, only one date box is available. click on the calendar icon to bring up a small calendar, click on the date of your choice. If you have and end date box, do the same and choose your end date.
Time: Add the time of your event.
(Reccurring Event) Day of the Week: This option is available for reccurring events only. Check the day or days of the week on which your event occurrs.
Additional Description: This section is useful if you have information that pertains to only that occurrance of your event. EX: Friday is our 'Stop the Hunger' food drive day. Bring three cans of food and recieve $5 off your addmission!
Any combination of event types can by created for any one event. Ex. Family Fun Days kicks off the first week of July, the 1st through the 4th, then repeats every Saturday for the rest of July. In August, the event only occures on one Friday one Saturday and one Sunday, on different weekends.
You would first choose Multi Date Event, enter the start date of the 1st and end date of the 4th. Be sure to enter the time. Then click add now.
Then select Reccurring Event and enter the start date as the 5th and the end date as the 26th, then check the Saturday box. Make sure you enter the time for your event. Then click add now.
Next you would select Single Occurrance event. Enter the date and time for the event which, in this case would be a Friday in August. Then click add now. Repeat this step for each of the other August dates.

Click Save to save and continue or Cancel.

Any event date can be edited by clicking the Edit Record icon to the right of the date.

Add Category

Log into CMATION® (http://www.yourwebsite.com/admin). Select the Modules tab, and from that menu select the Manage Calendar choice.

From the Tools menu you may choose to View Categories.

Select the Add button.

Name: Name your event.
Active: YES=visible, NO=not visible
Sort: Numeric value that assigns the order your categories are displayed in the admin.
Calendar Colors: Choose different colors from this drop down list to represent different categories.
