Howto: Setup Outlook 2010

Cmation - Version 7.2.3 (5/08/2014)

The instructions that follow will show you how to properly setup an email account on Microsoft Outlook 2010 which is part of the Office 2010 software created by Microsoft.

Create an Email Account

Part 1 - Open 'Account Settings...' Window

For both editing an existing email account and creating a new email account, go to Tools > Account Settings

Part 2 - Creating an Email

Step 1 - Creating an Account

If creating a new email account - click New

Step 2 - Select Account Type

Select Account Type - Choose E-mail Account.

Step 3 - Account Options

Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types

Step 4 - Email Type

Select Internet E-mail

Step 5 - User Information

Enter your User Information, Server Information and Logon Information
   User Information
   Your Name: Enter the name of the person that will use the email.
   Email Address: Enter the email address that has been assigned to you.
   
   Server Information
   Account Type: Select POP3
   Incoming Mail Server: Incoming server will be www.cmation.net
   Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): Outgoing server will be www.cmation.net
   
   Logon Information
   User Name: Enter the email address that has been assigned to you.
   Password: Enter password you have been assigned.

Click More Settings...

Step 6 - More Settings [General Tab]

   Mail Account: Enter your Email Address
   Organization: Enter your Company
   Reply E-mail: Enter your Email Address

Step 7 - More Settings Outgoing Server Tab:

Check the checkbox labeled My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
Select the radio button labeled Log on using
Enter your email address in the User Name field
Enter your password in the Password field
UnCheck the checkbox labeled Require Secure Password Authentication (SPA)

Step 8 - More Settings Advanced Tab:

Incoming Settings:
Check the checkbox This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
NOTE: It should change the incoming server (POP3) port to 995. If it does not, manually update this.
Outgoing Settings:
Update Outgoing Server (SMTP) to 587
Update Use the following type of encrypted connection to TLS

Step 9 - Click 'OK' Button to save settings

This will close the More Settings popup window

Step 10 - Click 'Next' to save settings

This will test incoming and outgoing email settings and then finish setting the email account up.
   'You are now ready to begin receiving email.'

Edit an Email Account

Part 1 - Open 'Account Settings...' Window

Step 1 - Account Settings

For both editing an existing email account and creating a new email account, go to Tools > Account Settings

Step 2 - Select Account

In the Account Settings window, select the e-mail account you'd like to update, and click the Change... button.

Part 2 - Updating an Email Address

Step 1 - User Information

Enter your User Information, Server Information and Logon Information
   User Information
   Your Name: Enter the name of the person that will use the email.
   Email Address: Enter the email address that has been assigned to you.
   
   Server Information
   Account Type: Select POP3
   Incoming Mail Server: Incoming server will be www.cmation.net
   Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): Outgoing server will be www.cmation.net
   
   Logon Information
   User Name: Enter the email address that has been assigned to you.
   Password: Enter password you have been assigned.

Click More Settings...

Step 2 - More Settings [General Tab]

   Mail Account: Enter your Email Address
   Organization: Enter your Company

Step 3 - More Settings Outgoing Server Tab:

  1. Check the checkbox labeled My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication

Step 5 - Click 'OK' Button to save settings

Edit Advanced Settings

Step 1

Follow Step 1 through 4 of Edit an Email Account

Step 2

To leave copies of email on the server update these settings.
   Check the checkbox labeled Leave a copy of messages on the server
   Check the checkbox labeled Remove from server after XX days (Replace XX with a number - Preferably no more than 10 days)
   Check the checkbox labeled Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'
